Eggshells contain the perfect amount of the ideal substances for healing cavities: massive amounts of calcium and 27 other minerals. The composition of eggshells resembles our teeth. Eggshells provide the necessary amount of calcium to remineralize teeth.
It took me about 2 years to finally place the "smell" of the eggshells while I was making them into powder. It always seemed so familiar, yet I could not place it. One day I walked into my dentist office and it was my eureka moment!!!! This was the smells that I have been smelling for so long, and I had to laugh because I had just put 2 and 2 together. All the chemical make-ups the same....of course the smells were going to be the same as well.
Bone tissue is composed of calcium. Actually, human bones and teeth are very similar to an eggshell's composition. One of the benefits of eggshells is the calcium contained in the shell (93%), the bone marrow is fulfilling its hematopoietic function better.
Additionally, eggshells also contain mineral elements: magnesium, phosphorus, silicon, sodium, potassium, iron, sulfur, aluminum, etc.
The protein of an eggshell is composed of such essential amino acids as methionine, cysteine, Lysine, Isoleucine. Thus, properly prepared eggshells are the most balanced natural means to obtain calcium.
Some studies have shown that eggshells can be especially beneficial for small children because their bodies experience more intensively involved in the formation of bone tissue, which requires an uninterrupted flow of calcium. Shells included in baby food can potentially be beneficial to prevent rickets, and anemia which usually develop in parallel with rickets. Shells promote activation of blood in the bone tissue.
Studies also showed accelerated healing when using the shell for treating such orthopedic diseases as congenital dislocation of a hip osteoporosis (softening of the bones).
To use eggshells for medicinal purposes, you need to use holistic eggs in order to avoid any chemicals or antibiotics.
Not intended for the treatment or prevention of disease, nor as a substitute for medical treatment or as an alternative to medical advice.
Hungarian physician, Krompeher, along with a group of medics and biologists, first began studying the healthy properties of eggshells. Over 10 years of research have shown that eggshells are the perfect source of bio-available calcium (dense and easily absorbed).
This whole revelation about eggshells is actually backed up by a dentistry school in the Philippines, where a study took place, comparing various commercial toothpaste brands along with their own compounded toothpaste from eggshells.
They discovered that over time, the teeth cleaned with the eggshell toothpaste had less plaque build up and stronger enamel. This is due to the fact that eggshells have calcium and other trace minerals which are essential for healthy enamel, thus preventing cavities.
If you understand the phrase, "an egg is not just an egg" then you will understand that an eggshell is not just an eggshell.
This is where OUR eggs shine.
Because we pay so much attention to what we are giving our hens: Pastured, (they have a choice to go outside or not). In winter they usually don't go out for obvious reasons, but that is why we have our worm farm so we can supplement their diets. As well, we grow microgreens on top of our worm bins so they literally get microgreens too. We have a fodder system so they can have greens all winter long when the weather is bad outside but they don't lose the benefits of fresh grains. We give our hens kefir made here and kombucha made here. They are NON-GMO and never get wormed or have antibiotics. We have been using thyme and oregnal oil here long before we started with the chickens....we know the value of those oils and we give them to our hens as well.
Our chickens lay eggs that are super fortified, I would compare it to grading a diamond or a fine wine. If their insides are of stellar quality, then the outside is just as jammed packed as the inside. Better insides, better outsides. More nutritional values all the way around.
Along with the eggshells we use coconut oil which is a natural whitener as well, and medicinal grade oils. Some have thyme and some have mint.
By the end of 2018 we will be adding toothpaste with activated charcoal (another whitener) in it.
